Dixon and her father is Oliver Simon Peter Blunt. She has three siblings named Felicity Blunt, Sebastian Blunt, and Susannah Blunt.
In 2000, she appeared on stage alongside Judi Dench in the theatre production The Royal Family. She made her cinema debut in 2004 with the film My Summer of Love. She gained wider recognition through this role and later with her performance alongside Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada released in 2006.
In 2011, she starred opposite Matt Damon in the film The Adjustment Bureau. In 2012, she acted alongside Bruce Willis in the science-fiction thriller Looper. In 2014, she played the female lead opposite Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow.
Emily Blunt married film director and actor John Krasinski on July 10, 2010, at a castle owned by George Clooney in Como, Italy. The couple has two daughters: Hazel Krasinski (born February 16, 2014) and Violet Krasinski (born June 16, 2016).
