Emily Blunt, born on February 23, 1983, in London, England, is the daughter of a barrister father and a teacher mother. Her full name is Emily Olivia Leah Blunt. Her mother is Janice M. Dixon and her father is Oliver Simon Peter Blunt. She has three siblings named Felicity Blunt, Sebastian Blunt, and Susannah Blunt.

In 2000, she appeared on stage alongside Judi Dench in the theatre production The Royal Family. She made her cinema debut in 2004 with the film My Summer of Love. She gained wider recognition through this role and later with her performance alongside Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in The Devil Wears Prada released in 2006.
