Timothée Hal Chalamet was born on December 27, 1995, in the Manhattan district of New York City, United States. He gained major momentum in his career with the film Call Me by Your Name and further solidified his status among Hollywood’s most sought-after stars with his performances in Wonka and the Dune series.



Timothée Hal Chalamet is the son of French-born Marc Chalamet and American Nicole Flender. His father, Marc Chalamet, is a renowned film critic for the French newspaper Le Parisien and has served for 15 years as the president of an organization comparable to the American Society of Cinema Writers. His mother, Nicole Flender, is the general manager of a company in Los Angeles that rents ultra-luxury apartments and open film sets, and she is also a former stage performer. His aunt, Amy Lippman, is a screenwriter.

Timothée Hal Chalamet completed his education at William T. Sherman School, Booker T. Washington Middle School, and Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and Performing Arts. After high school, he enrolled for one year in the Cultural Anthropology department at Columbia University. He later continued his acting education at Columbia University and at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
