Zendaya was born on September 1, 1996, in Oakland, California, United States. Her full name is Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman. Her father is Kazembe Ajamu Coleman and her mother is Claire Stoermer. She has three sisters named Katianna Stoermer Coleman, Kaylee Stoermer Coleman, and AnnaBella Stoermer Coleman, and two brothers named Austin Stoermer Coleman and Julien Stoermer Coleman.



An American young actress, Zendaya is an actress, singer, dancer, and model. She began her career at a young age as part of the Future Shock Oakland dance group, where she danced for three years. She also participated in programs at the Orinda California Shakespeare Theater, Oakland School for the Arts, and the Cal Shakes Summer Conservatory.

At a young age, Zendaya appeared in the Kidz Bop version of the music video for Katy Perry’s hit single Hot n Cold. She started her professional career by working in advertising campaigns for Macy's, Mervyn's, and Old Navy.

In 2010, several songs she performed in the Disney Channel series Shake It Up! were released as singles. With the earnings she gained from her success on the show, Zendaya invested in the dance competition Make Your Mark: Ultimate Dance Off in 2011.

Zendaya starred as Rocky Blue in Shake It Up!, sharing the lead role with Bella Thorne. The song Something to Dance For, which she performed together with Bella Thorne for the series, broke viewing records on YouTube. Another single they performed together, Watch Me, also reached high positions on music charts.

In 2012, Zendaya appeared alongside Bella Thorne in the Disney Channel original movie Frenemies. In early 2013, she competed in season 16 of Dancing with the Stars, becoming the youngest contestant in the show’s history and finishing in second place.

In 2017, Zendaya appeared in the film Spider-Man: Homecoming, directed by Jon Watts, alongside Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., and Michael Keaton.
