Rosamund Pike was born on January 27, 1979, in Hammersmith, London, England. Her full name is Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike. She is the only child of opera singers Caroline Pike and Julian Pike. Due to her parents’ profession, she spent the early years of her childhood in various parts of Europe. She later received a scholarship to attend Badminton School in Bristol.



While performing the role of Juliet in a stage production of *Romeo and Juliet*, Rosamund Pike was noticed by a talent agent, an encounter that played a decisive role in the beginning of her professional career. Although she initially wished to enroll in a drama school, she ultimately chose to study English Literature at Wadham College, Oxford. She graduated from Oxford University but never abandoned her passion for acting, performing in numerous theater productions throughout her studies.

In 2002, Rosamund Pike gained international attention with her role as Bond girl Miranda Frost in the James Bond film Die Another Day, starring alongside Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Judi Dench, and Michael Madsen. This role marked her major breakthrough in mainstream cinema.
