Official Trailer

Plot Summary

Michael Clayton follows Michael Clayton (George Clooney), a seasoned “fixer” working for a powerful New York law firm whose job is to quietly handle the firm’s most sensitive legal problems. Known for his ability to resolve scandals and crises behind the scenes, Clayton spends his days protecting wealthy corporate clients and keeping damaging information from reaching the public.

When one of the firm’s most important cases begins to spiral out of control, Clayton is called in to manage the situation. His colleague Arthur Edens (Tom Wilkinson), a respected attorney leading the defense of a massive agricultural corporation, suddenly experiences a breakdown and begins exposing disturbing truths about the company’s activities.

As Clayton investigates further, he uncovers evidence suggesting the corporation has knowingly covered up a dangerous environmental scandal. Meanwhile, the company’s ruthless legal counsel Karen Crowder (Tilda Swinton) is determined to prevent the truth from emerging, no matter the cost.

Caught between professional loyalty, personal survival, and his own conscience, Clayton must decide whether to continue protecting powerful interests or risk everything to reveal the truth. Written by Tony Gilroy, the film presents a tense and morally complex portrait of corporate power, legal manipulation, and one man’s struggle to reclaim his integrity.
