Grace of Monaco (2014)
Official Trailer
Plot Summary
Set during a turbulent period in European history, Grace of Monaco focuses on a defining chapter in the life of Hollywood icon Grace Kelly. At the height of her career during Hollywood’s Golden Age, Kelly chooses love over stardom after falling for Prince Rainier III of Monaco, a decision that leads her to abandon cinema and embrace a life bound by royal protocol.
Following their lavish wedding—celebrated worldwide as the “Wedding of the Century”—Grace officially becomes Princess of Monaco. However, her transition from celebrated actress to royal figure proves far more complex than anticipated. Struggling to adapt to palace life, rigid traditions, and intense public scrutiny, she finds herself questioning her identity and personal freedom.
As political tensions escalate between France and Monaco, the young principality faces an existential threat. Caught between duty, diplomacy, and her own sense of self, Grace emerges as an unexpected political figure, using her intelligence and resilience to help stabilize Monaco during a critical crisis. The film portrays her not merely as a glamorous princess, but as a woman navigating power, sacrifice, and reinvention.
