Plot Summary

Geostorm is set in a near future where climate change has escalated into a direct threat to human survival. In response, nations around the world unite to create an advanced climate control system known as Dutch Boy, a vast network of satellites designed to prevent natural disasters and regulate global weather patterns.

After operating successfully for two years, a sudden technical malfunction throws the system into chaos. What begins as a minor anomaly rapidly turns into a catastrophic chain reaction, triggering extreme weather events across the globe. As the planet faces the risk of total destruction caused by an impending magnetic storm, a desperate mission is launched into space to identify and repair the failure before it is too late.

Blending large-scale disaster with political tension and human drama, the film explores humanity’s attempt to control nature—and the devastating consequences when that control slips beyond reach.
