F1 Race Finishing Positions in the 2025 Season

The 2025 Formula 1 season came to an end with several eye-catching statistics that added a new layer of perspective to the championship fight. While the title ultimately went to Lando Norris, the numbers revealed that consistency across race finishes told a different story at the top of the grid.

Despite missing out on the world championship, Max Verstappen stood out as the driver with the best average finishing position of the season. When retirements were excluded from the calculations, the four-time world champion completed the year with an average race finish of 3.67, the strongest figure among all drivers in 2025.

McLaren’s success was undeniable, as Lando Norris secured his first Formula 1 world title. However, in terms of average finishing position, Norris ranked only third overall. His teammate Oscar Piastri finished ahead of him in this category, taking second place with an average finish of 4.21, while Norris followed closely with 4.25.

Fourth on the list was George Russell, who delivered a solid and consistent campaign, recording an average finishing position of 4.54. Ferrari’s Monégasque driver Charles Leclerc completed the top five, ending the season with an average finish of 6.75.

For seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, the 2025 season was one to forget. The British driver endured a difficult year by his standards, finishing sixth in the rankings with an average race result of 8.50, marking one of the most challenging seasons of his illustrious Formula 1 career.
