Story Overview

Thor: Ragnarok reinvents the Thor saga with a bold tonal shift, blending cosmic spectacle with sharp humor as the God of Thunder faces the collapse of his world. Imprisoned on the far side of the universe without his hammer, Thor must fight against time to return to Asgard and stop the prophesied destruction known as Ragnarok.

Thor, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth, discovers that his greatest enemy is not only the ruthless fire demon Surtur, but also the powerful and merciless Hela, played by Cate Blanchett. As the Goddess of Death claims the throne of Asgard, Thor is stripped of his legacy and forced to redefine his identity beyond his weapon and royal title.

Stranded on the chaotic planet Sakaar, Thor is captured and thrust into gladiatorial combat by the eccentric Grandmaster. There, he reunites with an unexpected ally—the Hulk, portrayed by Mark Ruffalo—and forms an uneasy alliance with Valkyrie to escape captivity and reclaim his home.

Visually vibrant and narratively playful, Thor: Ragnarok explores themes of loss, rebirth, and self-discovery. By dismantling traditional heroic mythology and embracing transformation, the film positions Thor not as the god of hammers, but as a leader forged through sacrifice, humor, and resilience.
