Plot Summary

Following his brief but eye-opening experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker is filled with an intense desire to prove himself as a true superhero. However, his age comes with responsibilities that cannot be ignored. Living with his Aunt May, Peter is also under the watchful eye of Iron Man, with whom he continues to build a close relationship. While trying to adjust to school life and maintain the routine of an ordinary high school student, Peter’s true focus remains on fighting crime and making the world a safer place. When a dangerous new enemy known as Vulture emerges in his city, Peter finally sees his chance to step up — but doing so may put everyone he cares about in grave danger.

Directed by Jon Watts, known for his work on *Clown*, the film introduces Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. The screenplay is penned by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, and the project is produced under the Marvel Entertainment banner. The supporting cast includes Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier, and Zendaya, who bring depth and energy to Peter Parker’s world.

Set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) finds himself balancing life as a high school student with his growing role as a member of the Avengers, all under the mentorship of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). As Peter struggles to manage his extraordinary abilities within the limits set by Stark, he is confronted by the sinister Adrian Toomes, also known as Vulture (Michael Keaton). Not yet having fully earned Tony Stark’s trust, Peter begins to understand what it truly means to be a hero when faced with consequences far greater than he ever imagined.

In 2014, plans were announced for the third and fourth installments of *The Amazing Spider-Man* series, with the third film originally slated for a 2016 release. However, in early 2015, an agreement between Sony Pictures and Marvel reshaped the future of the character. This landmark deal brought Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, paving the way for a brand-new series. As a result, Spider-Man: Homecoming was officially announced as the first film of this new era, scheduled for release in 2017.
