Plot Summary

Kramer vs. Kramer centers on Ted Kramer (Dustin Hoffman), a highly dedicated advertising executive whose life revolves almost entirely around his career. One evening, when he returns home late from work, his wife Joanna (Meryl Streep) delivers a life-altering decision: she is leaving him in order to rediscover her own identity.

Joanna not only walks out on the marriage but also leaves their six-year-old son in Ted’s care. Suddenly thrust into the unfamiliar role of a single parent, Ted is forced to confront responsibilities he has long neglected.
