Plot Summary

Set in a gloomy 19th-century village, Corpse Bride follows the story of Victor Van Dort (Johnny Depp), a shy young man preparing to marry the gentle and kind Victoria Everglot (Emily Watson). Nervous about his wedding vows, Victor retreats into the forest to rehearse, unknowingly placing a ring on what he believes to be a tree branch—only to discover he has accidentally married the mysterious Corpse Bride (Helena Bonham Carter).

Dragged into the vibrant and surreal Land of the Dead, Victor finds himself in a world that is paradoxically more colorful and lively than the rigid and oppressive society he left behind.
