Story Overview

Casanova (2005) is set in 1700s Venice, a city defined by masked intrigues, rigid social codes, and secret passions. At the heart of the story stands the era’s most notorious lover, the legendary adventurer Giacomo Casanova (Heath Ledger), whose reputation for seduction has turned him into both a myth and a scandal.

Casanova’s carefully constructed world begins to unravel when he encounters Francesca Bruni (Sienna Miller), a brilliant and independent writer who refuses to be dazzled by his fame or charms.
