Story Overview

Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers not at the beginning of her transformation, but after she has already become a powerful superhero and unexpectedly crash-lands on Earth. As she navigates the unfamiliar planet, fragments of her past begin to resurface. These visions reveal that Carol once lived on Earth and had a life she no longer remembers. The only person she can truly trust during this confusing journey is S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury. As Carol uncovers hidden truths about her identity, she finds herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic conflict between two alien races: the shape-shifting Skrulls and the noble yet militant Kree, who once saved her life and granted her extraordinary powers. Forced to choose a side in a war that has reached Earth, Carol begins to understand the true meaning of being a superhero.
