Plot Summary

Set in the neon-lit chaos of Gotham City, Batman & Robin follows Batman and Robin as they attempt to stop the cold-hearted criminal Mr. Freeze, who is executing a series of high-profile diamond heists to finance his frozen ambitions. While Gotham faces this immediate threat, a far more dangerous experiment is unfolding thousands of miles away in South America.

There, botanist Dr. Pamela Isley works under the supervision of Dr. Jason Woodrue on a powerful strength-enhancing serum known as Venom. Intended to be tested on the physically imposing subject Bane, the experiment spirals out of control, giving birth to a new breed of enemies whose power and unpredictability threaten to overwhelm Gotham’s defenders.

As these villains converge on the city, Batman and Robin must confront not only external dangers but also internal tensions within their partnership. With Gotham’s fate hanging in the balance, the Dark Knight is forced to face a colorful yet deadly rogues’ gallery unlike any he has encountered before.

Directed by Joel Schumacher, the second installment of his Batman series sees George Clooney taking over the role of Batman. The film features a high-profile supporting cast including Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze, Chris O’Donnell as Robin, Uma Thurman as the seductive and dangerous Poison Ivy, and Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl.
