Zac Efron was born on October 18, 1987, in San Luis Obispo, California, United States. His full birth name is Zachary David Alexander Efron. The surname “Efron” is of Hebrew origin and means “lark.” His father, David Efron, and his mother, Starla Baskett Efron, raised him alongside his younger brother, Dylan Efron.

In 2006, Zac Efron graduated from Arroyo Grande High School (AGHS) in California. He later enrolled at the University of Southern California but left before completing his degree. During this period, he also received formal acting training at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria, California, which helped shape his early professional career.

In 2005, Zac Efron appeared as the lead character in the music video for Hope Partlow’s song Sick Inside. A year later, he starred alongside Vanessa Hudgens in the music video for the song Say Ok, which appeared on her debut album V, released by Hollywood Records.

Zac Efron began a high-profile relationship with actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens in 2006, which lasted until their separation in 2010.
