Stanley Tucci was born on November 11, 1960, in Peekskill, New York, United States. He is the son of Italian-American parents Joan Tropiano and Stanley Tucci. During his high school years, Tucci developed a strong interest in acting and continued his education at the Conservatory in New York. He graduated from New York University’s acting program in 1982.



Stanley Tucci began his film career in 1985 with Prizzi's Honor, starring Kathleen Turner and Jack Nicholson. He gained significant recognition in 2004 for portraying Stanley Kubrick in the television film The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, which also featured performances by Geoffrey Rush, Charlize Theron, John Lithgow, Heidi Klum, and Peter Vaughan.

Tucci married his first wife, Kate Tucci, on April 18, 1995. They legally separated in February 2003, but remarried in 2005 after learning that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. They remained together until her death on April 27, 2009. From this marriage, Tucci has three children: Nicolo Robert Tucci (born January 21, 2000), his twin sister Isabel Concetta Tucci (born January 21, 2000), and Camilla Tucci (born 2002).

On November 3, 2011, Stanley Tucci became engaged to Felicity Blunt, and the couple married on September 29, 2012. Felicity Blunt is the sister of actress Emily Blunt. They have one son together, Matteo Oliver Tucci, born in 2015.

Stanley Tucci currently lives in a suburb of London, United Kingdom, with his wife Felicity Blunt and their children.

In 2017, Tucci wrote and directed the feature film Final Portrait, in which Geoffrey Rush portrayed painter and sculptor Alberto Giacometti, while Armie Hammer played writer James Lord.
