Story Overview

Wool is set in a dystopian future where humanity survives inside the Silo, a massive underground habitat built to protect people from the toxic atmosphere that has rendered the Earth’s surface uninhabitable. Governed by strict rules and completely cut off from the outside world, the Silo functions as a closed system in which order, control, and obedience are essential for survival.

At the center of the story is Juliette, portrayed by Rebecca Ferguson, a hardworking and inquisitive engineer whose curiosity sets her apart in a society that discourages questions. As she begins to uncover inconsistencies within the system, Juliette’s search for truth threatens the fragile balance that keeps the Silo functioning.

Law and order within the Silo are enforced by Sheriff Holston, played by David Oyelowo, a man deeply committed to maintaining stability. His wife Allison, portrayed by Rashida Jones, works in the IT department and becomes increasingly troubled by the hidden truths behind the information the Silo’s residents are allowed to see.

Overseeing the Silo’s information and control systems is a mysterious and powerful figure brought to life by Tim Robbins. As secrets slowly surface, it becomes clear that the dangers facing the inhabitants do not lie solely outside the Silo, but within its walls. Through themes of control, truth, and rebellion, Wool explores the high cost of survival in a world built on secrecy.
