Story Overview

S1M0NE is a satirical science fiction comedy-drama that follows the struggling Hollywood director

Al Pacino’s Viktor Taransky, whose latest movie is imperiled when its temperamental lead actress walks out. Desperate to save his career, Taransky turns to an experimental computer program capable of creating an incredibly lifelike digital actor. The result is “Simone,” a perfect artificial actress portrayed by Rachel Roberts, who skyrockets to global fame and becomes an unwitting commentary on celebrity culture and the nature of authenticity. As Simone’s fame escalates beyond anyone’s control, Taransky finds himself unable to reveal her true artificial nature without jeopardizing everything he’s rebuilt. The film’s humorous yet thoughtful narrative explores the entertainment industry’s cult of personality, media manipulation, and the ethical implications of technology replacing human creativity. Taransky’s increasingly fraught struggle to maintain the illusion of Simone’s existence ultimately reflects a broader critique of Hollywood’s obsession with manufactured perfection.
