Plot Summary

Inside Man brings together a brilliant police detective, a highly intelligent bank robber, and a powerful financial broker in a tense psychological battle built on hidden motives and carefully layered deception.

What initially appears to be a routine bank heist quickly evolves into something far more intricate. Disguised as painters, four robbers storm the lobby of one of Wall Street’s most influential financial institutions, taking fifty hostages and triggering a standard police response. Detectives are assigned, negotiations begin, and the situation seems to follow familiar rules—at least on the surface.

As the standoff progresses, it becomes clear that the criminals are always one step ahead. A mysterious broker (Jodie Foster) demands a private meeting with the robbers, while the bank’s powerful owner reacts with suspicious calm.
