Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)
Official Trailer
Plot Summary
Exodus: Gods and Kings explores the defining chapters of the life of the prophet Moses, drawing inspiration from selected passages of the Torah and the Old Testament. The narrative begins with Moses’ birth under the shadow of Pharaoh’s decree and his rescue, followed by his adoption into the Egyptian royal family, where he is raised as a prince alongside the future ruler of Egypt.
As Moses grows into adulthood, he becomes increasingly aware of the suffering endured by the Hebrew people, who are enslaved under Pharaoh’s rule. A turning point forces him into exile, where he confronts his true identity and destiny. Guided by divine visions and an unyielding sense of justice, Moses returns to Egypt to challenge Pharaoh’s authority and demand the liberation of his people.
The film chronicles the escalating confrontation between Moses and the Egyptian empire, culminating in a series of devastating plagues that test faith, power, and obedience. Through large-scale spectacle and intense personal conflict, Exodus: Gods and Kings portrays the journey from bondage to freedom, focusing on leadership, belief, and the heavy cost of defying absolute power.
