Plot Summary

50 First Dates

Living an idyllic, carefree life in Hawaii, Henry (Adam Sandler) appears to have everything he could ever want: sunshine, the ocean, and an endless parade of short-lived romances. His world shifts unexpectedly when he meets Lucy (Drew Barrymore), a warm and captivating woman who instantly stands out from anyone he has known before. Their connection is immediate and genuine, suggesting the possibility of something deeper than Henry’s usual fleeting affairs.

However, the next morning brings a devastating surprise. Lucy has no memory of Henry at all and behaves as though they have never met. Henry soon discovers the painful truth: Lucy suffers from short-term memory loss, a condition that causes her to forget everything that happened the previous day each time she wakes up. Every morning, her life resets, erasing not only Henry but also the love they briefly shared.

Rather than walking away, Henry chooses devotion over convenience. Determined to be part of Lucy’s life, he commits himself to making her fall in love with him again and again, each single day. Through creativity, patience, and unwavering affection, Henry transforms repetition into romance, proving that true love is not defined by memory, but by choice and persistence.
