Martin Sheen is best known for his portrayal of Captain Willard in Apocalypse Now and for his role as President Josiah Bartlet in the television series The West Wing. These roles became defining moments of his career and established him as one of the most respected actors in American cinema and television, particularly admired for his ability to portray morally complex and authoritative characters.
In 1961, Martin Sheen married Janet Templeton. The couple has four children: Emilio Estévez (born 1962), Ramón Luis Estévez (born 1963), Charlie Sheen (born 1965), and Renée Estévez (born 1967). Martin Sheen and his wife Janet live in Los Angeles.
