Story Overview

Zoolander is a satirical comedy that takes a sharp, exaggerated look at the absurdity of the fashion industry through the eyes of Derek Zoolander, one of the world’s most celebrated male supermodels. Blessed with flawless looks but limited intelligence, Derek’s entire identity is shaken when he is unexpectedly dethroned by a younger rival, Hansel.

As Derek spirals into an existential crisis, he becomes the perfect pawn in a sinister plot orchestrated by fashion mogul Mugatu, who plans to use him as an unwitting assassin. Manipulated, confused, and dangerously naive, Derek is drawn into a conspiracy that blurs the line between high fashion and high crime.

With the help of journalist Matilda Jeffries, Derek slowly begins to question the glamorous world that once defined him. What follows is a relentless parade of visual gags, industry parody, and self-aware humor, transforming the film into a cult classic that mocks celebrity culture, vanity, and the superficial logic of fame.

Featuring iconic performances by Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, and Will Ferrell, Zoolander remains a defining early-2000s comedy—equal parts ridiculous and razor-sharp in its satire of image obsession.
