Victory (1981)

Official Trailer

Plot Summary

The ball slowly rolls from the goal line into the net. A roar rises from nearly 50,000 spectators. In that moment, it becomes clear that this is no ordinary football match. This is war.

The battlefield is an occupied stadium in Paris during World War II. On one side stands an elite German team, carefully assembled to represent Aryan superiority. On the other, a group of Allied prisoners of war, forced into a symbolic match designed as propaganda.

What appears to be a showcase of dominance soon turns into an act of resistance. As the match unfolds, the prisoners realize that football may offer something far greater than victory on the scoreboard—it may be their only chance for freedom.

Blending the tension of a war film with the raw emotion of sport, Victory transforms a single match into a struggle for dignity, survival, and defiance. The question is no longer who will win the game, but who will dare to turn the final whistle into an escape.
