Story Overview

In The Dark Knight Rises, Gotham City once again stands on the brink of collapse as the masked terrorist leader Bane unleashes a meticulously calculated plan that neither Bruce Wayne nor Batman seems strong enough to stop. Years after Batman’s disappearance, the city enjoys a fragile peace, but beneath the surface, chaos is waiting to erupt.

Bane, a ruthless and physically superior adversary, draws Selina Kyle, also known as Catwoman, into his orbit, using her skills and ambiguous loyalties to further destabilize Gotham. With the city isolated and its institutions rendered powerless, neither the local authorities, nor Commissioner Jim Gordon, nor even the army can prevent the looming catastrophe. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the final chapter of the Batman trilogy brings back Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Tom Hardy as the formidable Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake.
