Plot Summary

Ten years have passed since the failed invasion of Naboo by the greedy Trade Federation. Once a gifted nine-year-old, Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is now nineteen and continues his Jedi training under the supervision of Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). Meanwhile, former Naboo Queen Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman) has stepped down from the throne and now serves her planet as a senator in the Galactic Senate, having transferred her royal duties to her successor Jamillia (Ayesha Dharker).

As political unrest spreads across the galaxy, a new threat emerges. Count Dooku (Christopher Lee), a former Jedi Master who has voluntarily left the Order, has aligned himself in secret with Darth Sidious and risen to lead the Separatist movement. His actions push the Republic to the brink of war. In response, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) proposes the creation of a clone army to defend the Republic, a motion that is brought before the Senate for a decisive vote.

Arriving on Coruscant to participate in the proceedings, Senator Amidala narrowly survives an assassination attempt. Concerned for her safety, Palpatine assigns Obi-Wan and Anakin to protect her. Soon, however, the two Jedi are forced to part ways. While Anakin escorts Amidala back to Naboo to evade further attacks, Obi-Wan travels to the water-covered planet Kamino to investigate the mysterious forces driving the galaxy toward war.

During their time on Naboo, the bond between Anakin and Amidala deepens into forbidden love. Haunted by recurring visions of his mother, Anakin is consumed by guilt over having left her behind a decade earlier. Unable to ignore his fears, he defies Jedi teachings and journeys to Tatooine with Amidala at his side. There, he learns that his mother Shmi has been abducted by Tusken Raiders, igniting a chain of events that will forever alter his destiny.

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan uncovers a far-reaching conspiracy involving bounty hunter Jango Fett and the secret creation of a massive clone army. Captured on the rocky planet Geonosis by the Separatists, he sends a desperate call for help. Torn between duty and emotion, Anakin ultimately follows his heart and heads to Geonosis with Amidala. As war becomes inevitable, Yoda reluctantly assumes command of the clone forces, fully aware that darker days lie ahead for the Jedi Order and the galaxy itself.
