Story Overview

Rocky II continues the story of underdog boxer Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), whose legendary bout with world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) has left a lasting impact on the boxing world. After the fight, public demand grows for a rematch, but Rocky—physically battered and emotionally drained—announces his retirement, prioritizing his health and future.

Turning away from the ring, Rocky devotes himself to his relationship with Adrian (Talia Shire). The two marry, and Rocky attempts to build a stable family life away from the violence of professional boxing. Yet the transition proves difficult.
