Story Overview

Logan is set in the near future, where Logan (Hugh Jackman) has grown old and weary, and his once-formidable mutant abilities are slowly fading. Living in isolation near the Mexican border, he dedicates himself to protecting Charles Xavier, also known as Professor X, whose mind is deteriorating under the weight of Alzheimer’s disease. Haunted by loss and determined to stay hidden from the world, Logan believes he has left his violent past behind.

That fragile peace is shattered when a young girl named Laura Kinney (Dafne Keen) enters his life. A mutant like Logan, Laura is relentlessly pursued by dark and powerful forces that seek to exploit her. Forced back into a world he desperately tried to escape, Logan must confront both external enemies and his own declining body to keep her safe.

Logan serves as the continuation of the Wolverine storyline that began with X-Men Origins: Wolverine and continued with The Wolverine. Chronologically, it is the third film centered on the Wolverine character and stands as a somber, grounded farewell to the iconic mutant.
