Story Overview

Set in New York, Conspiracy Theory centers on Jerry Fletcher, a paranoid yet oddly perceptive taxi driver obsessed with uncovering hidden truths behind world events. Fletcher spends his days driving through the city while relentlessly sharing theories about shadow governments, secret assassins, and unseen forces manipulating society from behind the curtain.

Believing that his knowledge is not merely speculation, Fletcher becomes convinced that Justice Department attorney Alice Sutton (Julia Roberts) must be warned. He forces his way into her office in an attempt to reveal what he claims are dangerous secrets, only to be quickly dismissed and removed.

What initially appears to be harmless paranoia soon takes a darker turn when Fletcher’s theories begin to align disturbingly with reality. Targeted, hunted, and unsure whom to trust, Fletcher and Sutton find themselves drawn together in a desperate struggle for survival as powerful forces move to silence him.

As the line between delusion and truth steadily erodes, the film explores themes of psychological manipulation, government secrecy, and trauma. With mounting tension and escalating danger, Conspiracy Theory questions whether Fletcher is a madman inventing patterns—or a man who knows far more than he should.
