Plot Summary

Set in 1942 during the height of World War II, Allied tells the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Brad Pitt), who encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Marion Cotillard) while on a deadly mission behind enemy lines in North Africa. Forced to pose as a married couple, the two operatives carry out a high-risk assassination that binds them together both professionally and emotionally.

When Marianne and Max reunite in London, their relationship deepens under the constant pressure of war. However, the fragile balance between love and duty begins to fracture as suspicion, secrecy, and the brutal realities of espionage threaten their bond.

As loyalty and trust are pushed to their limits, Max is confronted with an impossible choice—one that forces him to question not only the woman he loves, but the very foundations of truth and sacrifice in a world consumed by conflict.
