Plot Summary

Ad Astra follows the journey of astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt), a disciplined and emotionally restrained space traveler sent on a mission beyond the limits of the solar system. His objective is deeply personal: to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of his father, Clifford McBride (Tommy Lee Jones), who vanished twenty years earlier during a classified mission searching for extraterrestrial life.

As unexplained cosmic phenomena begin to threaten Earth, Roy’s mission takes on new urgency. What starts as a search for a lost man evolves into an investigation of a mystery capable of endangering the entire planet. Traveling farther from Earth than any human before him, Roy is forced to confront isolation, silence, and the psychological toll of deep-space exploration.
