Plot Summary

A Nightmare on Elm Street follows a teenage girl named Nancy (Heather Langenkamp), who begins experiencing terrifying dreams about a mysterious man wearing a hat and a glove fitted with razor-sharp blades. At first she believes these visions are simply nightmares, but everything changes when she realizes that her friends are having the exact same dream.

As fear spreads among the group, a horrifying pattern emerges: anyone who encounters Freddy in their dreams soon dies in the real world. Determined to survive, Nancy tries to stay awake for as long as possible, hoping that avoiding sleep will protect her. But escaping from dreams is not so simple, and exhaustion slowly begins to weaken her defenses.

While confronting the nightmare that haunts her sleep, Nancy also begins uncovering long-buried secrets about the past of her neighborhood and the true identity of the man stalking them in their dreams. As the line between dream and reality blurs, she must face her fears head-on to stop the deadly force threatening her and her friends.
