Official Trailer

Plot Summary

A Good Day to Die Hard centers on John McClane, a battle-hardened New York City police officer with more than two decades of experience fighting international terrorist organizations. His reputation as a relentless lawman has made him not only a hero, but also a prime target for criminal syndicates around the world. When one of the Russian mafia’s most powerful leaders escapes from prison, McClane is drawn into a new mission that takes him far from home, all the way to Russia. His only connection to the shadowy underworld there is a mysterious Russian figure named Komorov.

Operating in a country openly hostile toward Americans, McClane finds himself navigating a covert and increasingly dangerous operation. The biggest shock, however, comes when he unexpectedly reunites with his estranged son, Jack. Initially unaware of the full situation, McClane soon realizes that Jack is far more capable than he ever imagined and is deeply embedded in a high-stakes plan designed to corner the Russian mafia. As Soviet military forces also attempt to seize control, the conflict escalates into a complex and volatile power struggle.

Father and son are pushed into a merciless battle against the fugitive crime boss, racing through Russia’s unforgiving streets in a war defined by chaos and destruction. Explosions, relentless chases, and constant danger dominate the action, while the McClane family faces a deadly test of trust and survival.

The fifth entry in the iconic franchise takes the saga to Russia, expanding the scale of the story beyond its American roots. Directed by John Moore, the film stars Bruce Willis alongside Jai Courtney, Cole Hauser, and Sebastian Koch. Delivering nonstop action and large-scale set pieces, A Good Day to Die Hard presents a loud, explosive chapter that pushes the McClane legacy to its most chaotic extremes.
