Sadio Mané was born on April 10, 1992, in the village of Bambali, located in the Sédhiou region of Senegal. He grew up in a house shared by ten people, including his uncle and cousins. His father, who was an imam at a local mosque, did not initially allow him to pursue sports at a young age. Mané is Muslim. Due to financial difficulties, he was unable to attend school and spent his childhood working and playing football in the streets. Despite his father’s opposition, Sadio Mané continued to follow his passion for football. His older brother, Malick Mané (born 1988), was also a footballer.

Sadio Mané’s greatest dream was to become a professional footballer. At the age of 15, in 2007, he left his hometown and moved to Dakar, the capital of Senegal. He began his football career with the local club Generation Foot. His talent quickly attracted the attention of scouts, and in 2011 he transferred to the B team of French club Metz.

On July 1, 2022, Sadio Mané transferred to German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich for a fee of 32 million euros. By November 2022, he had scored 11 goals in 23 matches.

On August 1, 2023, Sadio Mané transferred from Bayern Munich to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for a fee of 30 million euros, signing a contract with an annual salary of 25 million euros.
