Jeff Daniels was born on February 19, 1955, in Athens, Georgia, United States. He is the son of Marjorie J. Daniels and Robert Lee Daniels, and has one brother named John Daniels. He grew up in Michigan, where his father owned a lumber company in Chelsea until his death in 2012. Jeff Daniels attended Central Michigan University, where he became actively involved in the school’s theater program, laying the foundation for his future acting career.



In addition to acting, Jeff Daniels is also known for his lesser-known talents as a songwriter and musician, having written original songs and performed music alongside his film and television work. This artistic versatility has contributed to his reputation as a multifaceted performer.
