Plot Summary

Remember Me, My Love centers on Carlo (Fabrizio Bentivoglio), a man working at a financial company who once dreamed of becoming a writer. His wife Giulia (Laura Morante) had her own abandoned ambitions, longing to be an actress rather than settling into a life as a high school teacher. Over the years, their youthful hopes have quietly dissolved into the routines and compromises of everyday family life.

Now in midlife, Carlo and Giulia struggle to maintain emotional balance while raising their two children. Their daughter Valentina (Nicoletta Romanoff), 18 years old, dreams of fame as a showgirl, while their 19-year-old son Paolo (Silvio Muccino) wrestles with existential doubts and questions the meaning of life. Each family member feels trapped between who they are and who they once hoped to become.

The fragile equilibrium of the household is shattered when Carlo unexpectedly encounters his former lover (Monica Bellucci) at a social gathering. This chance meeting reignites buried desires and unresolved emotions, setting off a chain reaction that forces every member of the family to confront their unfulfilled dreams and personal frustrations.

Through intimate conflicts and emotional revelations, Remember Me, My Love explores the quiet disintegration of a seemingly stable family. The film offers a poignant and realistic portrayal of love, regret, and the painful distance between aspiration and reality, revealing how suppressed desires can resurface and reshape lives long thought settled.
