Official Trailer
Plot Summary
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol presents a crisis unlike anything the IMF has ever faced. When the agency is falsely blamed for a global bombing that threatens international catastrophe, it finds itself on the verge of being completely dismantled. With all official support cut off, Ethan Hunt, portrayed by Tom Cruise, and his team activate a covert operation known as “Ghost Protocol.” Stripped of their identities, resources, and any form of backup, they must operate entirely on their own to clear the IMF’s name. With no communication and no one to trust, this mission becomes the most dangerous challenge of their careers.
As the fourth installment of the Mission: Impossible series, the film pushes Ethan Hunt into a relentless, high-stakes race across the globe. Beyond its breathtaking action sequences, this chapter stands out for its strong ensemble cast. Alongside Tom Cruise, the film features Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, and Josh Holloway, each bringing depth and intensity to the escalating conflict. Together, they navigate a mission where failure would mean not only personal sacrifice, but worldwide disaster.
Directed by Academy Award–winning filmmaker Brad Bird, known for iconic animated works such as The Simpsons, Ratatouille, Up, and The Incredibles, the film marks his striking transition into live-action cinema. The screenplay is written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, creators behind acclaimed series like Alias, October Road, and Life on Mars. Blending precision, spectacle, and suspense, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol redefines the franchise by proving that when all systems fail, the mission still goes on.
