Story Overview

Mission: Impossible serves as both a continuation of the classic television series and the first film in the legendary franchise. Inspired by the hugely popular 1960s TV show, the story introduces Ethan Hunt, portrayed by Tom Cruise, as the elite field leader of the Impossible Mission Force, a covert intelligence organization operating outside conventional structures. During a high-risk mission in Prague, a carefully planned operation collapses in catastrophic fashion, leaving Ethan as the sole survivor of his team.

In the aftermath, Ethan is accused of betraying his own unit and being responsible for their deaths.
