Story Overview
Glass brings together the worlds of Split and Unbreakable, serving as the concluding chapter of the Split trilogy. Starring James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy alongside Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson, the film expands its shared universe by uniting its fractured antiheroes and vigilantes under a single, psychological narrative.
The story follows David Dunn (Bruce Willis), a man with superhuman strength and near invulnerability, as he hunts Kevin Wendell Crumb, whose dissociative identity disorder includes multiple personalities—most dangerously, The Beast. As their violent collision looms, the shadow of Elijah Price, also known as Mr. Glass (Samuel L. Jackson), slowly re-emerges. Though physically fragile, Glass compensates with a razor-sharp intellect, and the secrets he holds prove to be critically important to both men.
Eventually, Dunn, Crumb, and Glass find themselves confined within the same psychiatric institution, where they are treated by a psychiatrist specializing in individuals who believe they are superheroes. Portrayed by Sarah Paulson, the doctor challenges their perceptions of reality, attempting to convince them that their extraordinary abilities are nothing more than elaborate delusions.
However, the uneasy balance collapses when Glass and Crumb form a dangerous alliance, leading to an inevitable escape. Refusing to stand by, Dunn breaks free as well, determined to stop them before their actions spiral into mass destruction. Reprising her role from Split, Anya Taylor-Joy returns as Casey Cooke, the only survivor of Crumb’s captivity, while Spencer Treat Clark and Charlayne Woodard also return as key figures from Unbreakable. Blending psychological tension with grounded superhero mythology, Glass delivers a dark, introspective finale that questions the nature of heroism, villainy, and belief itself.
