Story Overview

A Good Year tells the story of a ruthless and fast-talking businessman who lives his life at the same relentless pace as his career. Max Skinner (Russell Crowe), a successful London-based trader, inherits a vineyard in the south of France, a place filled with childhood memories he has long buried beneath ambition and cynicism.

What begins as a brief trip to sell the property soon turns into an unexpected journey of self-discovery. As Max reconnects with the land and its slower rhythms, he finds himself drawn to a French woman who challenges his hardened worldview and awakens emotions he never allowed himself to feel. Falling for her, Max gradually abandons his ruthless lifestyle and learns to appreciate love, simplicity, and the true pleasures of life, embodied by the vineyard and the woman who captures his heart (Marion Cotillard).
