Place of Birth:

Kate Garry Hudson was born on April 19, 1979, in Los Angeles, California, United States. She is the daughter of Academy Award–winning actress Goldie Hawn, who comes from a Jewish family background, and musician Bill Hudson. Her parents divorced when she was only 18 months old. She has an older brother, Oliver Hudson, who is also an actor.

From 1983 onward, Kate Hudson was raised by her mother and longtime partner Kurt Russell, whom she has always considered her true father figure. Although her biological father later married actress Cindy Williams, Hudson grew up largely disconnected from him. Through that marriage, she has two half-siblings, Emily Hudson and Zachary Hudson. She also has a younger brother, Wyatt Russell, born from her mother’s relationship with Kurt Russell, who later became a professional ice hockey player and actor.

In 1997, Kate Hudson graduated from the Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, a well-known institution attended by many future artists and performers. Her acting career reached a major turning point in 2000 when she starred as Penny Lane in Almost Famous, directed by Cameron Crowe. Her performance earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress and won her a Golden Globe Award, instantly establishing her as one of Hollywood’s most promising young actresses.

Following this breakthrough, Hudson continued her rise with prominent roles in The Four Feathers (2002) and the romantic comedy How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), in which she starred opposite Matthew Mcconaughey. The film became a global box-office success and firmly positioned her as a leading figure in romantic comedies throughout the 2000s. In the years that followed, nearly every film she appeared in attracted public and commercial attention.
