Plot Summary

Will Sawyer (Dwayne Johnson), a former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader, now works as a security consultant specializing in evaluating the safety of skyscrapers. During an assignment in China, disaster strikes when the world’s tallest and most technologically advanced building is suddenly engulfed in flames. With evidence manipulated against him, Will is framed as the prime suspect and becomes a wanted man.

On the run and with his reputation destroyed, Will must uncover who is truly responsible for the catastrophic fire in order to clear his name. At the same time, the situation becomes even more desperate as his family is trapped inside the burning tower, surrounded by fire, collapsing structures, and lethal security systems.

Pushed beyond physical and emotional limits, Will is forced to rely on his tactical expertise, resilience, and sheer determination to fight his way back into the skyscraper. Racing against time, he must outsmart the real perpetrators while attempting an almost impossible rescue mission high above the city skyline.

Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, known for Dodgeball, We’re the Millers, and Central Intelligence, the film delivers a high-stakes blend of large-scale spectacle and personal survival drama. Alongside Dwayne Johnson, the cast includes Neve Campbell, Pablo Schreiber, Roland Møller, Noah Taylor, Chin Han, and Byron Mann. The film’s cinematography is handled by Robert Elswit, with a pulse-pounding score composed by Steve Jablonsky.
