Story Overview

Revolver centers on Jake Green (Jason Statham), a brilliant but deeply guarded gambler who has long mastered the psychology of risk. When he is forced into a high-stakes game to protect his brother’s family, the consequences are severe: Jake is sentenced to seven years in prison. Behind bars, he shares a cell with two enigmatic con artists who secretly continue to run their own schemes, while Jake withdraws into books, strategy, and a growing obsession with revenge against the man he holds responsible for his downfall.

At the heart of the story lies the toxic, interest-driven relationship between Jake and flamboyant crime boss Dorothy Macha (Ray Liotta). Years earlier, Macha made a direct move against Jake at his lavish casino, only to lose a fortune. Determined to continue the psychological battle, Jake persuades loan sharks Avi (André Benjamin) and Zach to bankroll him, escalating the conflict into a dangerous game of pride, power, and manipulation.

During his years in prison, Jake absorbs the most advanced tricks of deception from his cellmates, emerging as an almost unbeatable force at the gambling table. As he prepares to exact his revenge, Macha is simultaneously plotting to eliminate his ruthless rival, Lord John, placing his hopes on the formidable drug lord Sam Gold.

When Jake finally visits Macha in his own casino and invites him back into the game, old fears resurface. Macha responds by unleashing his hitmen, convinced that Jake must be eliminated. What follows is a deadly final match in which every hand is more dangerous than the last. Yet the greatest threat does not come from guns or gamblers, but from an unexpected source—one that challenges Jake’s understanding of control, fear, and the true nature of the enemy.
