Story Overview

Preparing to leave the FBI, Will Graham (Edward Norton) is reluctantly pulled back into active duty when a brutal serial killer begins terrorizing the city. Known to the public as “The Red Dragon,” the murderer is revealed to be Francis Dollarhyde (Ralph Fiennes), a deeply disturbed man driven by violent compulsions and a twisted sense of transformation.

As Graham analyzes the crime scenes, he discovers that Dollarhyde is planning his next murder—this time targeting a blind and vulnerable young woman named Reba. Realizing that time is running out, Graham pushes himself to the edge of psychological collapse in an effort to understand the killer’s mind and prevent another tragedy.

Desperate for insight, Graham makes the dangerous decision to seek help from his former adversary, the imprisoned Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins). Their tense encounters revive old fears and buried traumas, as Lecter’s razor-sharp intellect proves both invaluable and deeply unsettling.

Balancing intellectual suspense with psychological horror, Red Dragon explores the thin line between hunter and hunted, delving into obsession, identity, and the terrifying cost of confronting pure evil face to face.
