Story Overview

Set during the brutal conflict of the Bosnia and Herzegovina War in 1993, No Man's Land follows two opposing soldiers—Nino and Čiki (Branko Djuric and Rene Bitorajac)—who find themselves trapped together in a narrow trench between enemy lines. Surrounded by landmines and caught in the chaos of war, the two men are forced into an uneasy coexistence as tensions, mistrust, and survival instincts collide.

As international peacekeepers and media crews become involved, the situation escalates into a tragic and absurd spectacle, exposing the inefficiencies of bureaucracy and the senselessness of war. Directed and written by Danis Tanović, the film masterfully blends dark humor with stark realism, delivering a powerful anti-war message that highlights the shared humanity on both sides of the conflict.
