Story Overview

Set in the port city of Vigo, Los lunes al sol offers a deeply human portrait of unemployment and disillusionment in modern Europe. The film follows a group of middle-aged men who once worked at the local shipyard and now find themselves cut loose from the stability that defined their identities. With their weekdays stretched endlessly before them, they spend their time at a modest bar called El Naval, revisiting memories, debating philosophy, and confronting the silent weight of wasted potential.

Santa (Javier Bardem), abrasive yet proud, refuses to indulge in self-pity and masks his frustration with biting humor and stubborn dignity.
