Inkheart (2009)
Official Trailer
Plot Summary
Inkheart follows young Meggie (Eliza Bennett) and her father Mo (Brendan Fraser), a quiet bookbinder hiding an extraordinary and dangerous secret. Mo possesses a rare gift: when he reads aloud from a book, its characters can escape the pages and enter the real world.
Mo discovers this power years earlier while reading the novel Inkheart, an event that pulls the mysterious fire-eater Dustfinger (Paul Bettany) into reality. Desperate to return to his fictional world, Dustfinger relentlessly follows Mo, believing he holds the key to reversing the curse.
Meanwhile, the novel’s dark antagonist Capricorn (Andy Serkis) is also brought to life. Unlike Dustfinger, Capricorn has no desire to return. His goal is domination—using Mo’s ability to summon terrifying creatures from the book and reshape the real world into a place of fear and tyranny.
With danger closing in, Mo’s only choice is to disappear and protect Meggie, who remains unaware that she may have inherited the same power. As the boundaries between fiction and reality blur, the story becomes a race against time—one where words themselves hold the power to create, destroy, and rewrite destiny.
