Plot Summary

Ghostbusters II takes place several years after the legendary ghost-hunting team saved New York from a supernatural catastrophe. Once celebrated as heroes, the Ghostbusters have faded into obscurity, struggling to adapt to ordinary lives while public belief in ghosts has all but vanished.

Everything changes when a mysterious surge of paranormal activity begins to stir beneath the city. An ancient tyrant named Vigo seeks rebirth in the modern world and finds his perfect vessel in the infant son of Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver). As dark forces gather strength, the city once again becomes a battleground between the living and the supernatural.

Reuniting reluctantly, Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) must rediscover their purpose. Armed with upgraded technology and an unexpected new source of psychic energy, the Ghostbusters face a threat more insidious than anything they have encountered before.

Blending sharp comedy with fantastical spectacle, Ghostbusters II expands the mythology of the original film while exploring themes of belief, unity, and the hidden emotions lurking beneath the surface of a modern metropolis.
