Plot Summary

With exactly 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds remaining until the end of the world, Donnie Darko introduces a haunting portrait of adolescence suspended between reality and cosmic inevitability. Donnie (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a seemingly ordinary American teenager, intelligent and introspective, yet deeply troubled beneath the surface.

Diagnosed with schizophrenia, Donnie struggles to maintain balance between his inner chaos and the structured expectations of suburban life.
